Kelsey's card

My niece Kelsey recently turned 14. She lives in Michigan so we do not get to see her very often but I always send her a handmade birthday card....she likes to craft and loves to receive my cards. I hope I inspire her. I used this pretty sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap for this girlie card:

I have been participating in a little challenge with a small group of online friends to complete 30-ish projects in 30 days. Tomorrow is day 30 and tonight I completed my 28th project. I think I can get one or two more done tomorrow evening and I am very happy with that. Working the long hours that I do and going to the gym after work 3 days a week, it is sometimes hard to start a project at 8 or 8:30pm. But I have pushed myself and got a great deal accomplished. I just might keep it up through September....I have a number of birthdays coming up and also want to work on my granddaughters' Disney album.

So with that I am going to clear some emails out of my inbox and hit the sheets.

Thanks for popping in.

Oh Snap!

I am still wooking on Christmas cards here and there and here is a cute little card that I made with this sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

I am also entering this card in the Muse Christmas Visions August Challenge. I was inspired for this card by the gingerbread man in the upper left corner of this picture:

That is it for me tonight....I am exhausted and have stayed up WAY too late. I will regret this in the morning....lol

Memories

I absolutely love this picture that I took of Dave and our grandsons in downtown Valparaiso, Indiana last June. Just the fact that nearly 16 yr. old Jacob even posed for a picture is a testament of what a good kid he is. He knows his grandmother is ALL about family photos. It was such a bright and happy day, the page I did needed to be bright and happy also. I used this fun, fun sketch from

I followed the sketch pretty closely with the exception of moving the title to the left because I used a 5x7 enlargement of the photo. In addition to the sketch for the challenge, the page also had to feature all males which is no problem and I had to tell you how I was inspired by this mood board:

I was inspired by the clouds in my picture and added them in place of the stars on the sketch. I also used several of the colors. If you count all the colors in my photo as well, I think every color from this mood board is present on my page.

I am also entering this page in the Scrap Our Stash August Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I followed along right across the bottom and used and Emoji, Brads and Washi Tape. The Emoji is in the title having been substituted for the letter O in MEMORIES. The Brads are right below the title...the cent brad says LOVE and is flanked on either side by yellow brads. Finally the Washi Tape is the somewhat had to see thin glittery tape right under the red strip of stars at the top of the page.

That is it for now....this weekend was busy and WAY too short. I am soooo looking forward to next weekend when we have 3 days off. Thank you for stopping in my blog.

Plane Awesome

This summer was a summer of "firsts" for my granddaughters. They took their first train, boat and airplane rides. I will be documenting every part of it because, well that is what I do. This page documents the first trip on a plane. Dave and I were right across the aisle and except for a little nervousness on take-off from Izzy, the girls enjoyed it immensely. Our destination was Florida so you will be seeing loads of Florida vacation pictures and pages the next few months.

I used this awesome sketch from Laura Whitaker for Stuck?Sketches:

I am entering it in their SKETCH CHALLENGE
There is still plenty of time to enter...hope you check it out and get inspired like I did.

Well....tomorrow is Friday.....my favorite day of the work week. I will be back to blog a birthday card for a special little family member tomorrow. Thanks for popping in.

Be Merry

Sometimes I just love making masculine cards and this simple yet masculine card is one that came together quickly and that I was instantly pleased with it. I was inspired my Cornelia's deer head card from Muse Christmas Visions:

You're On The Nice List

I am really still loving making Christmas cards although birthday season is coming up in my family so I am going to need to switch to birthday cards soon but in the mean time I love this card I have to share with you today. I used 2 different stamp sets from My Favorite Things and their sketch this week:

Welcome Baby Alice

I became a great aunt for the first time the end of August when my nephew Kyle and his long time girlfriend Mary had little baby Alice. I really had to get creative to make this card as I do not have any baby products or stamps.  But after thinking about it for a few days I came up with a plan and I think it turned out nicely. Of course a big reason it turned out well was the awesome sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap:

I am also entering this card in the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp Challenge -- Add a Sentiment.

Well that is about it for tonight. I am soooo glad that tomorrow is Friday, how about you?

Florida Fun Cont'd

I am still working on my June 2016 pocket pages. It doesn't bother me being behind --.I am enjoying the process. When I saw this month's Elle's Studio Challenges I really wanted to get them all done. This one is the only challenge that I got done. This page is for the Stand Out Title Challenge. The challenge was to use a journaling card for my title. I actually used and embellished 2 journaling cards from Elle's Studio on this page....the card in the upper left and the Sunshine and ____________ card in the lower right. I also used an awesome acrylic "Super Cool" from Elle's Studio as well. I am really crushing on their acrylics and title builders lately and you will see a number of them in upcoming projects.

Well that is all for tonight. It's Monday and I am not fond of Mondays so I think I just might hit the sheets an hour or so early tonight. Hopefully I will get time to craft tomorrow nught and I will be back later in the week with more to share.

Hope Your Day Doesn't Bite

I did not get a whole lot of of time this weekend to craft but I did get this fun card made. It is for the Interactive Card Challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and the shark is on an action wobble. I even took a picture of it wobbling:

Since Newton's Nook is sponsoring the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown, I just had to use one of my favorites Newton's Nook stamp sets. I have a whole boatload of birthdays coming up so I am not sure who is going to receive this card but I think they will have fun with it. I used this sketch from

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Birthday Challenge.

Well my weekend is officially over and I am heading for bed. I hope to get crafty tomorrow after work and make a card to welcome a brand new baby into the family. I will be sharing that one soon.

Aloha Dude

No, it is no longer July but I am still enjoying making Christmas cards. I made this one for my 16 year grandson. He is at the stage where he calls everyone Dude. He even slipped recently when I was in town and called me Dude and then corrected himself and said, "Errr, I mean Grandma." It was fun to see him turn all shades of red...he was very embarrassed. So I know he will get the sentiment on this card.

I made this card for the Mix it Up Challenge on the Ellen Hutson Classroom Blog. The challenge was to use one product from Ellen Hutson (I used the hipster Santa image from Tis The Season) and mix it with a product from Avery Elle. The sentiment from Avery Elle is from their Surf's Up stamp set which is an older set but one of my very favorites.

I am also entering this card in the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp For A Child Challenge.

Thant's it for now...I hope you are having a good weekend.

Have a Beary Special Day

I had surgery on my hand this past Wednesday and have a big bandage on it for two weeks...no fun. Let me tell you everything takes longer with one hand and some things are darn right impossible. So it took me awhile on this card and I ended up staying up late on Thursday night getting the presents wrapped and the package all ready to be shipped to the Chicago area. But I got it done and I like the way this card turned out. I used this week's sketch from My Favorite Things :

I am also entering this card in the Monday Simon Says Stamp Birthday Challenge.

Well that is it for now....I will be back later to show you a funky non-traditional Christmas card I just made.

Magic Day

And the Disney pages continue. Each of the girls got their photo with Snow White individually because Izzy was away from the table when Snow White stopped by. I am so impressed on how Disney goes out of their way to make the experience truly magical.

For this page I used this sketch from Sketch and Scrap:

I am entering it in their August sketch contest....you can see all the details HERE.

Well I am going into work a bit late today and I need to get on the road. Catch ya'll later.

Livin' The Fairy Tale

We took my son and granddaughters to Disney in June and I am just getting started on scrapping the pictures. This is my first layout for the Disney album. We got Fast Passes for a meet and greet with two of the Princesses when we first arrived and the rest of the photos were from our lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table. I was sooooo thrilled to score reservations for that event. They are not easy to come by.

I used this awesome sketch from Let's Scrap for these photos.....it was perfect.

I am entering this layout in the August 1st Let's Scrap sketch challenge.

That's it for now.  We are going to go out for a bite to eat since it is my birthday and I will be back later with another Disney page.

Thanks for stopping by.
