I Only Have Eyes For You

Continuing on with my Valentine cards....this one is for my 15 year old grandson who recently got glasses.  I think he will laugh at it...at least I hope he will.  Do you know how hard it is to make a Valentine's card for a teenage boy??? I used this sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap:

I am entering this card in the sketch challenge at Sketch-n-Scrap and also in the
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Goofy Face Contest

Here is another page for my son and grandsons' album from their Florida trip last summer.  I think I may only have 2 or 3 more pages to do before the album is complete. May if I push myself I can have it completed and send it to them for Valentine's Day.  I loved this sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap when I saw it at the beginning of the month.

Even though my pictures were not vertical I still wanted to use them and I made it work with this page. I am entering it in their sketch challenge.

Well I have a bad head cold so I am going to take some Nyquil and hit the sheets. Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Sending You a Big Bear Hug

I was home sick from work today and generally feeling very cruddy all day. I even slept until past 10am which is highly unusual for me. About 2pm I decided to push myself to get off the couch and shower and try to craft a bit to see if that made me feel any better. And you know what both the shower and being a little creative helped at least with mental sluggishness. I broke out my brand new panda stamp and die sets from My Favorite Things and with the help from their current sketch, I created this Valentine's Day card for my grandson Cole who LOVES pandas. Here is the sketch I used:

In addition to the sketch challenge at MFT, since I broke out something never before used (the stamps and dies), I am entering this card in Darnell's third week of NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge.

And finally, I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I truly do appreciate it.

You & Me

I am not feeling well today and the weather is cold and rainy out so it is the perfect day to stay home sip warm tea and honey and create some scrapbook pages and enter some challenges.  For this page featuring my youngest granddaughter and their two family dogs, I used this sketch from the January 15th challenge at Scrap Our Stash:

Part of the challenge at Scrap Our Stash is to include something on my page that begins with each of the letters in the word GOALS. So here I go:
G--Glossy Accents used on the two hearts
O-Oval shaped sub-title "Puppy Love"
A-Ampersand
L-Letters
S-Scalloped black border

I am also entering this page in Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge to use gray.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I think I will take a break from my scraproom to cuddle up with a pillow and blanket on the couch and watch a couple more episodes of the Fixer Upper Marathon.

The Best Days Are With You

I am continuing to work on the Florida album for my son and grandsons documenting their trip down here last summer and I am nearly finished. I love doing these pages....it is almost like reliving the wonderful days that they were here with us. This coming summer we are bringing the granddaughters down here and I am hoping we have a wonderful time with them also and make some memories that they will cherish for a lifetime.

I used this fun and simple sketch from Stick It Down as my starting point and the page evolved from there. Sometimes I follow a sketch exactly and other times the sketch can still be seen in my layout but I add my own touches to it as I did in this case. I am entering this page in their

I am not feeling well today....I think I have the beginnings of a head cold. The weather outside is cold and damp (so unusual for sunny Florida) so it is a good day to stay home in my jammies, drink coffee and hot tea with honey for my sore throat and craft all day. Oh and then there is that mound of laundry that I have to tackle as well....ugh.

Thanks for stopping by today and for your sweet comments. They always put a smile on my face.

Love One Another

I made this card for the monthly swap in the Coffee Loving Papercrafter's group that I am in and I am tickled pink on how it turned out. (haha...no pun intended!) I used this fun sketch from Kerry Urbatch:

I am entering this card in the sketch challenge at The Coffee Lovers Cardmaking blog.  Every Sunday Kerry shares a card she created that week and then challenges us with the sketch. I usually always love Kerry's card and inspiring sketches but with my work schedule of 50-60 hours a week, I do not always get to play along. I am so glad I did this week. Sometimes you just have to MAKE the time...even when tired.

The sentiment of this card and those adorable coffee cups are from a fun freebie from the amazing Julee Tilman, the owner of Verve stamps.  She is offering this freebie until February 15. I am linking my card up to her post and you can get your own free download by clicking HERE

Finally I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge
and
The Show Your Love Challenge at ModSquadChallenge

Well my weekend is half over and I am going to hit the sheets. I feel like my body is trying to fight off a head cold and a good night's sleep might help do that.  I will be back tomorrow to share with you a layout that I worked on today.

I think Valentine's Day cards are my favorite cards to make.  I just really enjoy telling my family that I love them.  This card will be for my oldest son and his wife. I used this sketch from Stick It Down:

I flipped the sketch on it's side for my card and used a big sentiment from Ali Edwards/Technique Tuesday. I am very happy with the final result.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Explore

I like to occasionally do 2 page layouts.  My problem is that I rarely have multiple pictures from an event to scrap. Last summer when my grandsons were visiting here in Florida from the Midwest we spent a day in the Daytona Beach area sightseeing. I had a bunch of fun pictures from the day and decided to do this spread when I saw this awesome layout from Stick It Down.

I am entering their January sketch challenge with this page.....you can see all the details HERE. The deadline is the end of the month so you still have time to play along.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Sending a Whole Lot of Love Your Way

My youngest granddaughter, Isabelle Grace (or Izzy as we all call her) LOVES purple...just like her Grandma. To celebrate our shared love of all things purple, I wanted to make her a purple Valentine's Day card this year. I just love the Pure Innocence line of stamps from My Favorite Things because, well the image of the little girl looks a great deal like my Izzy. Both the stamp and sentiment are from my new set called Heart Bouquet and the water color paper is from the 6x6 Watercolor Wash paper pack from MFT.  I do not think these items have just recently been released but they are new to me.  When I was at my LSS recently, I saw them and had to have them. This is the first time inking up the stamps or using any of the beautiful paper from the pad. I used the MFT weekly sketch challenge for this card:
In addition to the MFT sketch challenge, I am entering this card in Darnell's NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge

The final challenge I am entering with this card is the New To Me Challenge at A Blog Named Hero  I stamped the sentiment in Hero Arts Orchid ink....one of my favorites.

Well that is about it for a Monday night....I am up WAY past my bedtime.  Thanks for stopping by.

I am working at knocking out my cards for Valentine's Day.  This one is for my hubby. Don't you just love that dancing pig? He is from one of my favorite stamp sets from My Favorite Things....Hog Heaven.  I also used their current sketch for this card (I just flipped the sketch on it's side) and am entering it in their sketch challenge.

Gotta run.....thanks for stopping by.

Calling All Sistahs January Blog Hop

It is my favorite time again....the 17th of the month means it is time for the Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop.  This is a monthly blog hop to remind all our sistahs to do your monthly breast self exam and schedule those mammograms. Believe me, there is nothing more important than taking the time to check yourself and get an annual mammogram. A routine mammogram last summer saved my life.  You can read my story HERE.

This month we have something very special  -- Michele of CAS-ual Fridays has partnered up with Pretty Pink Posh to design an exclusive blend of the prettiest sequins that I personally have ever worked with. The special blend is called Sistahood Sparkle and is a beautiful combination of light pink, silver and dark pink.  They are absolutely lovely...don't ya think?

I was lucky enough to receive a packet of these little pretties and showcased them on my card this month.

I just love the combination of silver and pink so I even heat embossed my sentiment in silver. These sequins are available now in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp shop and they are part of the Calling All Sistahs collection. Michele generously donates 50% of the profits from the sales of the sequins, just as she does with the other items in the Calling All Sistahs collection to NBCF.org  Quantities are limited and once they are gone, they are GONE.

So now it is time to hop. The next fabulous blog in the hop is the lovely and talented Lisa Lahiff.
Be sure to hop along with all the blogs as there will be 2 - $15 gift certificates awarded randomly for commenting on the blogs.  And there is loads of inspiration and feel good stories along the way. The deadline for commenting is midnight on Thursday January 19th.

I am also entering this card in the Mod Squad Sequins, Rhinestones and Glitter Challenge.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. It is an honor and privledge to take part in these monthly blog hops/reminders.

Sending Wags

My granddaughter LOVES dogs and puppies so I made this card for her with a brand new stamp set from My Favorite Things that I picked up at my LSS. I know Abby will like it and it was loads of fun to make. I used the current MFT sketch:
I am also entering this card in the Sugar Pea January Anything Goes Challenge.

Happy Anniversary

My son and daughter-in-law are celebrating their 6th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks and I wanted to make a nice card to send them along with a gift card for a nice dinner out. I used this awesome sketch from Mojo Mondays:

Winter has struck here in Florida and I cannot seem to get warm so I am going to cut this post short and go grab a blanket and curl up on the recliner and watch hockey.  Thanks for stopping by.
