Cookies for Santa

My granddaughter is nearly 10 and is really doing well on learning to bake and cook. She baked, frosted and decorated these cookies for Santa this year and did a great job in my opinion. I used the December Jumpstart sketch from The ScrapRoom Blog for this page:

I turned the sketch 90 degrees to accommodate my horizontal picture which I enlarged to a 5x7 so you could really see how beautiful Abby and her cookies are. I really busted my stash for this page using papers from Tim Holtz, Bella Blvd. and Imaginisce.  I plan on using up a good deal of my stash this coming year....I really have some awesome stuff in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and Happy New Year!

Joyful Christmas

It has been a full 2 months since I have created a traditional 12x12 scrapbook page. November and December's craftiness was Christmas tags and cards. It felt really good to work on this page and since I have another couple of days off from work, I just might create a few more. For this page I used the mid-month sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

Thank you for checking out my blog....and Happy New Year to all!

All is Calm, All is Bright

This has not been an easy year for my Dad and he is now living in an Assisted Living facility nearby. It is a very nice place and he has his own apartment and is very well taken care of, and has also made some friends but it is probably not where he would have pictured himself a year ago. I made him this card for Christmas this year and plan to spend a good amount of time with him this weekend.

I am entering this card in Pixie's Snippet Workshop Playgound for weeks 311 and 312. The chalkboard look tag and the solid black and red polka dot paper were all in my scrap basket (or snippets, as Di calls them) as was that thin white ribbon. I love looking through my basket and pulling out bits and pieces for a card. Di is offering an awesome Lil' Inkers die for a prize that I would love so I am slipping in my entry with not much time to spare.

I am also entering this card in the
Sugar Pea Designs December Mix It Up Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping in ....I will probably not be posting again until after Christmas so
Merry Christmas!

Holiday Cheer

Still knocking out my last few Christmas cards. I really wanted to get this card made for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop but time just got away from me last week. I am glad I made the time this week to work with this sketch because I LOVE Julee Tilman's sketches over at the Viva La Verve blog. The sentiment and image was a free digital that she offered last Christmas. You should check out the digitals she has for sale....they are awesome and very affordable. I used this sketch:

That is it for tonight but I have another card to share tomorrow night so please come back.

May Your Holidays Be Bright

I finished making the last 6 cards last night that I needed to mail today. It seems every year my Christmas card list gets longer but I really enjoy making and sending out Christmas cards. I still have 3 more cards and a holiday thank you to make but I have all week to work on those as they are not being mailed out. I used this unique sketch from Stick It Down for this card:

As you can see I substituted the poinsettia for the Christmas tree shape in the sketch. I am entering this card in the following challenges:

and

That is it for now....I will be back tomorrow with another card.

White Christmas Card

I wanted to go with a clean and simple card showing lots of white space on this card. It does have some layers but this is about as CAS as I can get tonight. I think the white tag on a white card is rather elegant so I am sending this out to one of my classy friends...lol

I used this sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

I am also entering this card in the CAS-ual Fridays Dreaming of a White Christmas Challenge.
And finally, I am also entering this card in the
Simon Says Stamp Monday Christmas/Winter Holiday Challenge.

That's it for now....it is WAY past my bedtime, so I must hit the sheets. But I have another card to share later to make share to stop on back.

Merry Christmas Abby

My oldest granddaughter is 9 years old and loves animals of all kinds. Her favorite color is mint, so when I saw this 3x4 Crate Paper journaling card in my stash, I knew it would make the perfect Christmas card for her. She has already received it up in the Chicago area and she seems to love it.

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Christmas/Winter Holiday Challenge.

That's it for now....I do have another card to share but I will save that for another blog post.

Hope Your Holiday Is Lots of Fun

My youngest granddaughter bears a striking resemblance to the little girl in the Pure Innocence stamps by My Favorite Things. So I am systematically buying all them to make cards for her. I also used Blueprint 13 to make the tag that I placed on the card and I am entering it into the
Creative Construction With Blueprints Holiday Tags Challenge at My Favorite Things. I wish you could see this card in person....I used some of my silver Wink Of Stella glitter pen on her sweater and the fur on her boots and it is so shimmery. I think 6 year old Izzy will like it....we females in this family like bling...lol.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday

That's it for today. I will be back tomorrow to share another card.

Sending Joy and Good Cheer

I just loved the sketch from My Favorite Things this week and was planning a double shaker card and at the last moment I decided to go a different direction and create the card you see above. Here is the sketch that inspired me:
I am entering this card in the following 2 challenges:

It feels good to be creating again...I will be back tomorrow to share another card.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #16

I have loved the whimsical images from Lawn Fawn Stamps for a long time. I believe this stamp to be the very first Lawn Fawn stamp I bought and it is still one of my favorites. When I saw the current challenge at Lawn Fawnatics to use your oldest LF stamp, I just KNEW that I was going to pull this well-loved stamp out. I paired him up with some beautiful Lawn Fawn plaid paper and topped my tag with a pretty red felt bow from Bella Blvd.

I am entering this tag in Challenge #16 at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog.

A fun lady from the UK named Di runs a challenge online called the Snippets Challenge. Her intent is to get us to use up our snippets, or little scraps of paper otherwise destined for the trash can. I do not know about all of you but I find it hard to throw away scraps of paper because it might be just the perfect scrap I need for a future project. One thing I never throw out is pieces of my Copic paper as that stuff is a little pricey and I can always use a little piece. Such was the case for the owl on this project. I found a small piece of Copic paper in my stash which was just the right size on which to stamp this Winter Owl from Lawn Fawn.

Tags are perfect to use up snippets of paper also. The stars were punched from scrap red and aqua paper and I heat embossed the sentiment on a snippets as well.

In addition to the Lawn Fawn challenge, I am entering this little tag in Di's current Snippet Challenge. She is offering up two awesome prizes and I would LOVE to win both of them....thanks Di!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Pumpkin Pie?

I had a lot of fun coloring and making this card for my dog-loving granddaughter Abby. I think she will really like it as it looks like her dog Titan. I love these dog stamps from Tim Holtz and I do not use them near enough.

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday It's A Stitch Up Challenge. The panel with the dog on it has faux wonky stitches on it.

That's it for tonight. I am officially on vacation now for 9 days and the first thing I am going to do in the morning when I get up is drink several cups of coffee and then clean up my scrap room. It looks like a tornado swept through there!! Are you a messy creator?

November Mix It Up Challenge

I love to play along with the challenges on the Ellen Hutson blog whenever I can and I was thrilled to see that the Mix it Up Challenge this month was a collaboration with one of my favorite companies....My Favorite Things.

I heat embossed my sentiment from My Favorite Things with silver embossing powder, spattered some navy card stock with white paint and colored that adorable image from Ellen Hutson with my Copic markers. I was able to get this tag down in under an hour.
I am also entering this tag in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Snow White Challenge.

Thanks for stopping in and checking out my project. I will be back tomorrow to share a Thanksgiving card (or two).

Chalkboard Tag

I decided to create the above simple chalkboard-look tag for my third tag in Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I was inspired by the chalkboard tag below by Amy Kolling on day 6.

There is loads of inspiration and prizes to be had also. For all the details in how you can join the fun click HERE

Because I have snowflakes and a snowy scene on my tag, I am entering it in the
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Snow White Challenge.

Thanks for your interest in my creations. Hang on the weekend is almost here.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

I have been so inspired to get busy making tags for Christmas because of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. There are some great prizes and awesome tags. I have a whole list of tags I want to make this month. This is my second tag I want to share. I was inspired by Tracey's Hipster Bunny tag on Day 6. I have the same Lil Inker stamp set as Tracey so I stamped the same image and colored him very similarly to Tracey's hip bunny. There is plenty of time to get in on the fun tag making. Check out all the details HERE

Because the bunny looks like he is all ready to hit the slopes or enjoy some other outdoor winter activity and my card has snowflakes on it, I am entering this tag in the
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Snow White Challenge

Thanks for popping in. I will be back shortly to share another project.....

Happy Anniversary

This is the second time that I used my new floral stamp set from My Favorite Things. Can you believe that I did not own a floral stamp before I bought this one a few weeks ago? I am not much of a flowery type person, preferring instead graphic images and cute critters/children for images to color. But I am so glad I broke down and bought this set. I actually really love coloring these blooms. I arranged a few of these images on a dry embossed background and it just seemed like the perfect anniversary card for my husband's brother and his wife for their upcoming anniversary. I used the colors of the current

That is it for this evening....thanks for stopping in to check out my blog.

Have a Magical Holiday Season

I love making tags at Christmas time. Some of them end up on Christmas cards but most add that special little something to a Christmas package. I have been very inspired by Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Day 3 featured one of my favorite stamp companies....CAS-ual Fridays. I used a non-holiday stamp (the ballerina from the Tutu stamp set) paired up with the sentiment and snowflakes from Snowy Sayings. I am entering this tag at the Anything But a Card Challenge at the CAS-ual Fridays blog.

I am also entering this tag in the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp Christmas Gift Tag Challenge.

Thanks for stopping in....I have one more project to share tonight and then I hope to hit the sack early as I have not slept well the last two nights. Don't you hate when that happens?

Sympathy Card

A member of our extended family lost his grandfather last week and I wanted to make a sympathy card for him. These are my least favorite cards to make and I must admit to just resorting to buying sympathy cards in the past. But recently I got a floral stamp set from My Favorite Things and over the weekend I set out to make a card to send our condolences.

I used this sketch from My Favorite Things:

I am entering my card in their Sketch Challenge. You still have time to enter and you can see the details HERE

Thanks for stopping in tonight to check out my creation. Have a wonderful week.

Bring on the Pumpkin Spice

I love pumpkin spice....I am not over the moon crazy for it however and by mid-November I have had my fill but I will never get tired of this fall/pumpkin spice/coffee themed digital set of sentiments and images from Verve Stamps. I just love creating with Julee Tilman's creations. I used her October sketch for this card also:

I am entering this card in the October sketch challenge at Viva La Verve.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

That's it for tonight....fall has finally arrived here in Florida and it is going to be a chilly night....good sleeping weather. Goodnight!!

It's Awesome Being 6

My youngest grandchild turned 6 in August and although I wasn't able to be there with her, I had spent 2 weeks with her this summer and we made some life long memories together. I got some pictures of Izzy's big day from my son and I wanted to document her celebrations. I used the right side of this awesome 2 page sketch from Let's Scrap:

Instead of the film strip in the lower right hand corner I added that adorable chipboard girl with the balloons. And I used 2 small horizontal pictures on the left side of the page to leave room for my journaling.

Thanks for stopping by tonight....can you believe that October is just about over? This year has flown by much too fast.

12

A very sad thing happened this month....my grandson Cole turned 12.  I am sad because my grandkids are growing up way too fast. Cole has always been a wild and crazy kid, full of life and so much fun to be around. I hope he will still enjoy hanging out with us when we come into town. He never fails to make us laugh and gives us plenty of material to remember once we come home to Florida. For this page I used this fun sketch:

I am entering it in the Scrap Our Stash October Sketch + Word Challenge
The word was LEAF and I used:
L -- Layers
E -- Enamel Dots
A -- American Crafts Pebbles papers
F -- Flames and a Frame

That is it for tonight...whew! I was a busy girl this weekend...scrapping AND blogging. But I will be back tomorrow to share another project. Thanks for stopping by tonight.

Hello Fantastic Beautiful Crazy Life

My life for the past couple of years has gotten quite unpredictable and crazy. We have weathered 2 hurricanes in 11 months here in Florida and we are currently living with several tarps on our roof and fighting with our insurance company for enough money to make the needed repairs. I was diagnosed and beat breast cancer in 2016 and moved my 85 year old Dad to Florida from Colorado. He built a beautiful new home but due to health issues and several falls he only lived in it for less than 2 months. He has since transitioned to an awesome Assisted Living Facility.....but it has not been easy for him (or me). In the midst of all the changes in my family and my life I have to say I am still one lucky gal. I love my crazy life and wanted to document that on this page. I am getting more comfortable scrapping myself. I was inspired to use a large 8x10 photo by the Super Size Me Challenge in the Paper Issues Fall Crop on their Facebook page. I used the October Rewind sketch from Rochelle Spears:

As you can see, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to accommodate my vertical photo and used a much larger photo than was shown in the sketch. I love the 5 strips of cardstock/patterned paper in the background of the sketch and followed that identically. I love taking an awesome sketch and making it my own while still staying true to the major design elements.

That is it for this post....I have been busy scrapping this weekend so I will be back soon with another project to share.

Ice Cream Is Always A Good Idea

I had so much fun with my granddaughters this past summer. One of the fun things we did was to go out for ice cream at the ice cream shop run by Oberweis Dairy. The ice cream there was soooo delicious! And of course Grandma spoiled the girls by ordering them servings of ice cream nearly as big as their head...lol. I used this fun sketch from Stuck? Sketches:

I have been scrapping all weekend so I will be back soon with another project to share. Thank you for stopping in.

Spooktacular card

Ok....I lied. I have one more Halloween card to share. I made this card just for the fun of it and then on a whim I sent it to my son. I know he will like it....he loves all things creepy.

I am entering this card in the Spooktacular Challenge at the Tuesday Throwdown challenge blog.

I am also entering it at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

I think I will go soak a bit in a lavender scented bath and go right to bed. It was one of the roughest days I have had at work in awhile.

Peace Love Hope

I got inspired to create this card today at work. I sketched and wrote out the whole design and came some and knocked this out in no time at all. How does inspiration hit you? I used this great sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

That is it for tonight....I am going to watch a little hockey and hit the sheets.

It's All About The Candy

My Halloween card and projects are done and mailed out. Some of them have already been received. So this is my last project to share with you except for a couple of Halloween themed scrapbook pages that I am going to know out before the end of the month. I used one of the sketches from
Sketch-n-Scrap for this card for my grandson Cole:

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Photo Inspiration Challenge.
Here is the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the Halloween theme and the candy corn. I also used all the colors on my card as well.

That is it for today. It was a good day. I had my one year screening for breast cancer which I beat one year ago. I am happy to say that I remain cancer free...yay! Life is Good. I will be back tomorrow to share a summer layout (and there might be ice cream)

Happy Haunting

I had a couple more Halloween cards to knock out this week so I could get the packages of goodies mailed off to the Midwest. Sadly, the package sent to my grandsons is probably the last Halloween package I will send them as they are getting older and have most likely outgrown the Halloween goodies. But I will still be making them for a few more years for the granddaughters. I used this sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap and am entering it in their Sketch Challenge.

I am also entering it in the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. You can tell I was inspired by that adorable Frankenstein monster in the photo.

Finally, I am also entering this card in the Blueprints Right This Way Challenge from My Favorite Things. I used blueprint #13 and several pointed directional elements....the arrow die and 2 tags dies. That adorable image and sentiment is also from My Favorite Things.

That is it for tonight. I have an extremely busy weekend ahead of me so I am thinking of turning in early tonight....yup on a Friday night. What an exciting life I lead!!

Teenage Zombie

This picture is a couple of years old but for some odd reason, I had never scrapped it. I love Halloween photos and fall scrapping and the photos I get are few. Plus we do not have fall here in Florida so I love the occasional Halloween/fall/ Thanksgiving pages that I get to do.

For this picture I used this fun sketch from Sketches in Thyme and am entering it in their
sketch challenge. Their sketches really ROCK this month. I just might use all of them if I get a chance.

That is it for tonight. I am going to relax on the couch and watch some hockey and then hit the sheets. Thank you for stopping in my blog.

Pumpkin Pickers

I love scrapping fall/Halloween pictures. Unfortunately, I never get too many of them. I love this one from last year of my son and grandson and saved it to scrap this year. I used this awesome sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

I am entering this page in the sketch challenges at Sketches in Thyme as well as the
Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge at Scrap Our Stash:

I went diagonally from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. I used the color orange, a pumpkin (brad) and I die cut a piece of thin cork with my SMILE circle die.

Gotta go to work...thanks for dropping in.
