Week #25 Stuck on You Sketches Summer Challenge

The current Project Life challenge over at Stuck on You Challenges is to use the Summer theme on your pages.  I love the large title I used for my spread this week and was able to incorporate a bunch of summer themed elements.  One of my favorites is the 3x4 journaling card titled "10 Things I Love About Summer".

Here are close-ups of each of the pages:

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my pages.  I hope you are inspired to work on your own pocket page summer themed pages.

Embossed Hearts

I have not seen my grandchildren in nearly 17 months which is WAY too long.  But in just a little over a week I will be hanging out with the grands.  I am VERY excited.  I made this cute little card for one of my granddaughters.  I always come into town with gifts and this little "I Love You" card is the perfect card to go in a gift bag,

I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

I am also entering this card in the dots and spots challenge at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge blog.  I ran my cute little heart die cuts through my Swiss Dots embossing folder just to up the cuteness factor.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Wednesday!!

Stuck on U Sketches Button Challenge

We have a new challenge up on Stuck on U Sketches -- Buttons!  I must admit to rarely using buttons on my pages although I have several jars of them. I scattered them thoughout my 2 page spread for week 18 and in addition I added some flair which some people consider buttons also.

Here is a close up of the left hand page:

And here is the right hand page:

I hope to have inspired you to add some buttons to your Project Life pages this week and link them up HERE. You will them be eligible for our monthly prize of some assorted goodies.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and happy Monday!

You're a Real Peach

I just loved this little 3x4 card when I received it in my July Studio Calico Project Life kit.  I knew that it would end up on a card and tonight it did just that.  Plus just having bought some sweet juicy peaches this weekend I couldn't help but use a couple of them for my staging.  Here is a little known fact -- did you know the top peach producing state in the nation?  I always thought it was Georgia because they are known for their peaches.  Heck, they even have one on their license plates.  But after having lived 4 years in the state of South Carolina, I can tell you that South Carolina claims to produce more peaches than Georgia.  I have had some South Carolina peaches and they are delicious.  So now having put my reputation on the line....I sure hope those South Carolinians were not pulling this yankee gal's leg!!  LOL

For this card I used this wonderful sketch by Mojo Monday:

I am just slipping it into their sketch challenge with only about an hour to spare. I am also linking this card up to the newest Paper Issues theme -- Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....eat a peach this week!

Wishing You the Happiest of Birthdays

One of the crafting groups I am in had a challenge to make a 4x4 square card.  Let me tell you, that is harder than you might think it is.  I had to scale everything differently but in the end I love the result. This cute little card will soon be heading to the Smoky Mountains for my cousin Colleen's birthday.

I used this sketch from My Favorite Things (because I would love to get some of their awesome dies!!):

The papers and sundae sticker are from Carta Bella and the sentiment is Avery Elle.

I am entering this card in the Monday Challenge at My Craft Spot: Birthdays

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog.

This is my first post for my brand new Design Team assignment with Stick it Down challenges.  I am on the card sketch team and couldn't be more excited.  The sketches are awesome to work with and my fellow design team members are so nice and talented.  They really inspire me.

I used the July sketch for my card:

Isn't that an awesome sketch?  Why don't you give it a go and link it up HERE.  You could be our next guest designer.

700th Post!!!!

As I started this post I saw this this is my 700th post....wowzers!  That is unbelievable!  I remember starting this blog in 2011 somewhat reluctantly.  I honestly did not think I had the time or the content to blog.  Well, obviously that is not true.  While I post mostly my crafty projects on here I love being able to share with my readers a part of my life.  So THANK YOU for stopping by and sharing a little bit of me.

I think this calls for a celebration!!  Leave me a comment and tell me how long you have been blogging or crafting and I will enter you in a drawing for a $20 gift card to the shop of your choice.  It can be anywhere....Starbucks, Scrapbook.com, Michaels, Old Navy.  It is your choice.  It is just my way of saying "Hey, thanks for stopping by."

Now on to the business at hand.....I actually created a wedding layout today from MY wedding.  Okay, I know I was married 11+ years ago but I am in the process of re-doing my wedding album.  The first one I started in the 8.5x11 format when I first got into scrapping and wanted to color coordinate the pages and have them 12x12.

I used this sketch (Pansy #1) from Scrapbook Steals Mid-Week Mojo:

Instead of two 4x6 pictures I used one 4x6 and two 3x3 photos.
The page tells of our ride up and down the Vegas with the Elvis impersonator that married us.  We got married in 2003....good times.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave me a comment so your name can go in the drawing for a gift card....who doesn't LOVE shopping on someone else's dime?

Love

I just love shaker cards.  Mine do not turn out as wonderful as most of the ones on see online but I keep plugging away and making them and each one is a bit better than the last one.  I made this card for a friend who recently got married.  Don't you just love LOVE?  I sure do.

I found the vintage white sequins at a garage sale recently and they are just PERFECT for this project.  The "love" die cut is from a recent American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Shake It challenge

Virginia's View Challenge #5 (use a die cut)

Moxie Fab World Word Dies challenge

There is still time to enter your projects in the above challenges.  Why not create something and join me?

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I hope you are enjoying the holiday weekend.
