In High Tide or Low Tide.......

My new favorite collection is the anchored collection by Authentique.  I loved it so much I bought 2 of EVERYTHING in the collection and the anchor paper you see in the background of the above photo i {may} have bought 4 sheets!! I also used my sweet little banner punch from Stampin' Up for those banners.  That punch creates banners that are the perfect size for cards.

I used this sketch #16 from Seize the Sketch:

Edited 5/25/15 to add: I am linking this card up to the current linky party at Paper Issues --

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and have a wonderful weekend.

Talk Blarney to Me

I made this cute little St. Patrick's Day card for my hubby yesterday and he actually laughed out loud when I gave it to him today.  I think he liked it!  I used a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches but missed the deadline to enter it over there.

I am entering it in Paper Issues newest theme--Count My Lucky Stars and the Simon Says Stamp Monday "Lucky" challenge because I am one lucky gal to be married to this wonderful (and gorgeous) man:

We have been married nearly 11 years and he still makes my knees weak when he smiles at me.

I hope you enjoyed your St. Patrick's Day today and have a wonderful and productive week.

A Christmas Card???

I made a Christmas card today.  Yes, I know it is March and Christmas is more than 9 months away.  But I want to be ready and not stressed come December.  AND I have a great number of cards to make (nearly 70 last year).  So there is no time like the present to get started. Plus there is an awesome challenge blog called Festive Friday with prompts throughtout the year to help inspire my Christmas card making.  This is their inspiration photo for their current challenge:

I was inspired by the beautiful snowflake in the picture and had just the snowflake to add to my card.  Then, inspired by the silver in the inspiration picture, I heat embossed my sentiment in silver embossing powder.

I used this sketch from Stick it Down Challenges:

This is the first of my weekend projects and I have Monday off also so I should be back with more projects to share with you.  Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a happy day.

Let Them Eat Cake

As soon as I received my new Carta Bella It's a Celebration collection I tore into it to make this cute page with my darling Izzy.  She had an ice cream birthday cake for her 2nd birthday and loved it (who doesn't love ice cream birthday cakes???)

I am entering it into the March color challenge at Scrap Much? There is still time to enter if you want to link up a project....you can find all the details HERE.

Hi There!

I recently bought an inexpensive set of primary colored water colors and broke them out last weekend along with some watercolor paper and played around a little.  I had a blast....so much so that I am going to go buy some more watercolors so I have more of a selection of colors.  Seeing that water colors are so trendy right now I decided to use a couple of my water colors on a card.  I used this sketch from CAS(e) This Sketch:

I am also entering this card in Virginia Lui's new challenge blog.  Her first challenge was water coloring which inspired me to open my water colors and play a bit. When was the last time you tried something new and played around a bit?  It's fun and inspires creativity...go ahead and try it!

Thanks for checking out my blog today....have a wonderful day.

Who Is That Masked Man?

I am so excited to be able to create this page with pictures of my oldest son Matt.  I just do not get many pictures of him.  Next time I see him, I am going to change that and take bunches of pictures of him.  He posted these on Facebook of him working in the paint booth at work.

I used this sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap:

I am also entering this page in Frosted Designs Punctuation challenge as I used a question mark in my title.
Well, that does it for me this weekend. I did quite a bit of clean-up and organization in my scraproom and had time to create too. Hope your weekend was restful and productive also.

St. Patrick's Day Shaker card

Well I have started my St. Patrick's Day cards.  My sons and grandchildren all have Irish ancestry and the good ol' Irish last name of Farley and are proud of their heritage.  Plus living in the Chicago area, St Patrick's Day is a big deal.  Why they even dye the Chicago River green!

This is my first of many St. Paddy's Day cards and I attempted another shaker card with some pretty green sequins. I used this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today.  Stay tuned for my St. Patrick's Day cards and other projects.  I have been a busy gal!

Nice Rack

I just love a good punny card and I have the perfect person in mind to send this card too.  She is a friend of mine for over 40 years and I just know she will get it.  I used a 3x4 card from the Studio Calico February Copper Mountain Project Life kit.  I love using PL cards on my cards....they are the perfect size and make easy work of creating a card.  For the sentiment I used the Basic Grey letters from the same kit.  They were the perfect shade of grey. And speaking of shades of grey....that is the CAS-ual Fridays challenge I am linking this project to.

I used the current sketch from CAS(e) This Sketch for my card:

Thanks for stopping by my blog....hope your weekend is restful and relaxing.

You Anchor Me

I inked up some Papaer Smooches stamps last night that I had not used yet and made this card. Even before moving to Florida 7 years ago this month, I loved all things nautical. I think I might save this card and give it to my dad for Father's Day.  I used this Designer Draft from Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge blog for this card and will be entering it in their challenge.

Thanks for checking out my blog....I will be back a little later with another project to share.
