Autumn Frame

I love crafting with the colors of fall.  I also love finding great little items (like this solid wood frame) for practically nothing at thrift stores. I paid $1 for it.  It had a company logo in the lower right corner which I was easily able to cover up with some fun embellishments.  I used a 3x4 card from Simple Stories fall collection from last year in the frame.  It took me about 10 minutes to make this cute little altered frame and I think I will used it as one of the the decorations on my food table at our Thanksgiving dinner in a few weeks.

Sweet Little Wreath

I have looked for and wanted the Martha Stewart branch punch that I used to make this sweet little wreath forever.  I finally found another scrapping buddy that traded it with me for a stamp set I had won and wasn't interested in.  Win, win situation for both of us.

I was inspired by this card which was on my Pinterest cards board:

Another Halloween Gift Bag

I made my granddaughters matching gift bags except Abby's has a ghost on it and this one is for little Izzy and it has a jack-o-lantern on it.  I sent this up to the midwest from Florida with candy and goodies in it.  I hate missing all the holidays with my grandchildren but the one thing they can count on is getting happy mail from Grandma.

I am entering this gift bag in the Simon Says Stamp Halloween challenge.

Have a wonderful week.  I will be back in a couple of days to share another project.  Thanks for checking out my blog.

Spooky Gift Bag

I made this cute little gift bag for my granddaughter Abby who is 5 1/2.  I just LOVE the little felt ghost I used.  I filled it with a cute Halloween DVD and of course some candy.  It is now on the way up to the Midwest from Florida hopefully to put a smile on a very sweet little girl's face.

Hey Pumpkin #2

I think that this might be my favorite card that I made this year for Halloween.  Just the combination of that adorable stamp from Simon Says Stamp, the handwritten (by Kristina Werner) sentiment stamp and using up a bunch of my scraps from the bottom of my Halloween drawer just makes me smile when I see it. I also scattered a few wood grain flat sequins just for interest and paper pieced the chevron pumpkin.  I am not much of a fan of coloring but gave it a go on the cute little kitty with my gray Sharpie.  This card is for my youngest grandchild 2 year old Izzy and it went postal today along with a bag of goodies.

Ahoy Mates

A few weeks ago I was looking through my old photo files on my computer and came across this photo from 3.5 years ago of my grandsons.  Dave and I were visiting the family in Chicago and we all went to the Museum of Science and Industry (love that place).  This is Jacob and Cole at age 8 and 4 posing with the anchor of the captured German WWII U Boat the U505.  It is on display there at the museum and is awesome to check out.  Don't miss it if you are in Chicago.

Recently I have been really into the nautical/anchor trend so I had lots of goodies to use on this layout.  I used Creative Scrappers Sketch #253:

Thank you for checking out my blog......come back tomorrow to see one of the cutest cards I think I made for Halloween this year.

Treat Bag #2

Here is the second treat bag I have made....2 down and 7 to go.  I do have all my cards made which is a major accomplishment.  Two of the 3 packages need to go postal this week so it is crunch time.  AND it is a busy week....along with working 10 hour work days with 90 minutes of commute time, we also have dental appointments on Wednesday after work (FUN) and we go to the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  AND the most important appointment is my hair appointment Thursday after work.  I see some late nights in my future.

Treat Bag #1

I am busy making Halloween cards and treat bags for my grandkids up in the Midwest, our niece and nephews in North Carolina and the kids next door.  I love Halloween crafting probably more that any other holiday and I am not sure why.  So today will be filled with some of my favorite activities.....watching football and making stuff.  Life is good.

Boo Banner

I finally got the time to make a Halloween banner that I wanted to make last year and just did not have the time to do so.  I used burlap for the pennants and layered some polka dot paper, painted chipboard letters and strung them together with some awesome black and orange hemp twine.  I also punched some oval shapes from kraft cardstock and added some cute October Afternoon flair.  This year it is adorning my hall tree:

But next year I am going to put it on a wreath.  What have you made for Halloween or fall this year?

Week #27

I am plugging away on my Project Life pages.....I am still behind by about 3 months.  If I do 2 weeks every week from now until the end of the year I think I will be caught up.  I really need to try to do that.  Here is my week #27....the first week of July.

I am entering this spread into the challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches to use a calendar on a Project Life page which I did on my title card on the left hand page.

Trick or Treat

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to craft for.  This is the first of many Halloween projects that I have planned.  It is just a clean and simple card inspired by this sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch:

I am entering this card over at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge blog where the challenge this week is to use a rubber or clear stamp.  I used a clear stamp from Inkadinkado and then heat embossed it with black embossing powder.  It is my favorite way to create Halloween sentiments!

I am also linking this up to the Paper Issues Halloween Hootenanny.

I have quite a few things planned to work on this weekend....I hope I get the time to get them all accomplished.  I will be back to share more over the weekend....in the meantime enjoy the beautiful fall season where ever you are.

Happy Birthday Aaron

Dave's brother Aaron has a birthday this month and I decided to use some of my nautical themed products on his card.  I used this awesome sketch from Mojo Monday:

I am entering this card in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge blogThe challenge this week is to use a rubber or clear stamp.  My "happy birthday" sentiment is a rubber stamp from Stampin' Up that came out SEVERAL years ago.  It is one of my favorites.

I have really been enjoying making cards this month....what have you been creating lately??

Thank You

Recently one of my customers at work gave me all the vintage cameras from his late wife's collection.  I was humbled and amazed at his act of generosity.  I thanked him at the time and promised to give them a good home but I wanted to make a special thank you card for him.  This is what I made for him.  I used this awesome sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

Have a Wicked Cool Birthday

I have very cool grandsons....that is not just the biased opinion of a grandma but it is true....for reals!  So I always have to make sure that the cards I make for them are as cool as they are (or almost).  The card is for Cole's 8th birthday next week.  I can hardly believe he is 8.....seems like he was just a baby last month.  But he is growing up fast and I miss him like crazy.  This card is going out tomorrow along with a package of goodies from Grandma and Dave with lots of love.
