Hold My Hand (always)

While browsing through my computer picture files today, I found this picture of Dave and I at Epcot 3 years ago that I never scrapped.  People tell Dave that he looks like a Viking so he wanted this picture taken in front of the Viking exhibit.  Some really nice passerby took the photo for us.  It is one of the few pictures of us that we have that is not a selfie.

I used this awesome sketch #251 from Creative Scrappers:

I am so glad to see that Creative Scrapper's has returned from their break....I LOVE their sketches and the DT REALLY inspires me.

I used my Martha Stewart Punch All Over the Page punch for those scalloped circles and backed most of them with burlap for texture.  I just love the warmth and texture the burlap and wood patterned paper and veneers give this page.  I used Glitz's Dapper Dan patterned paper and some embellishment stickers from the Glitz Finnley collection along with some enamel dots from My Mind's Eye.  All of these can be found in the Whimsical Twist shop at awesome prices with the lowest shipping that you will find anywhere. The Whimsical Twist blog is also having a fall texture challenge right now and the prize is a $15 gift card to the shop!  How cool is that???  You can link your fall texture project and find other ways to enter for the prize HERE.

Artful Delight Card Sketch

I love fall even though I live in Florida and there is not much in the way of fall colors here.  I especially love the autumn colors and love to include them in my crafting.  I really wanted to use the card sketch at Artful Delight this month but the time just got away from me.  Luckily I carved out some time today after work to make this card.  I used their awesome sketch:

I think I might send this card to my granddaughter in the midwest.  Abby just started kindergarten, her Mom went back to work and there are lots of changes in her life right now.  But I want her to know that I love her and things will be ok.  That is why I make cards....to send a tangible part of my heart to friends and family across the miles and let them know I am thinking of them.

I am also entering this card in the Scrap It Girl Got Wood challenge.

Happy 4th Birthday

My husband Dave never had any children of his own.  He inherited 2 stepsons and 4 grandchildren now that he is married to me.  He also has the cutest nephews and niece in his brother's children in North Carolina.  Gabriel will be 4 in a couple of weeks so I wanted to make a birthday card for him.

I used the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch:

I am also entering this card in Pumpkin Spice's challenge to use primary colors on a card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and I wish you a lovely day.

Celebrate Nautical Style

I made my first gatefold card this week.  I don't know why I never made one before -- they are easy and very striking in the design.  I went with a nautical theme and even decorated the inside of the card.

I used papers from my 6x6 Fancy Pants paper pad from the Down By the Shore collection.  The little anchor clip is also from that Fancy Pants collection. It holds the gates of the card closed. The stamps are my brand new sets from Simon Says Stamp.  The sentiments are from the Handwritten Greetings Set and the anchors that I clear embossed on the navy blue background are from the Nautical Borders set.  You can see them in the shop at Simon Says Stamp.  Just click HERE. They are part of the Stamptember new releases.  I am linking this card up to the following:

Sending Smiles.....

I had fun last night making this card.  I rarely make monochromatic projects but I really love the end result.  Lawnscaping's current challenge was to create a monochromatic project.

I used this sketch 240c from Pamela's World of Scrap:

I stamped the sentiment on some cross stitch fabric that I recently picked up for next to nothing at one of my local resale stores.  Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge blog has a challenge this week to stamp on something other than plain paper.

I am sending this card to a little boy and his family who could really use some good cheer.  You can read about them HERE.  Can anyone join me in sending a card?

Thanks for checking out my blog.  I sincerely appreciate your visits and comments.

I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

New Challenge at Week-2-Week

I am so excited to bring you the next challenge at the Project Life challege blog that I run with my friend Suzanne -- Week-2-Week. This time around I am challenging you to use one or more of these sketches for your individual cards. I saved these sketches to my Project Life Pinterest page awhile ago and I am not sure where they came from but I did not draw them or think them up myself.

I used the top left sketch for my title card and the 2nd row middle card also. Here is page 1 of week #23:

I used lots of Bella Blvd on the page because well, I love BB and it was on my desk. I am starting to include what I am calling my Pin of the week on my spreads. This week it was the Chicago poster. Do you Pinterest? Do you include some of your favorite pins on your pages?

So my challenge is to use at least one of these sketches on your spread and make sure to let me know which one you used. Our prize this time is the much sought after Becky Higgins Project Life corner rounder:

Suzanne and I are hoping with the return of the kiddos to school, maybe we will have more participation in our challenges. Will you help us spread the word this week? Thanks!

Whimsical Twist Chalkboard Challenge

Can it really be September 1st already?  Where did August go? This year just seems to be speeding by.  And my grandchildren just seem to be getting older and older.  I can hardly believe that my oldest grandson......(the one who made me a grandma) Jacob is turning 12 this week.

I made him this card keeping the chalkboard challenge in mind over at Whimsical Twist.  Check out the challenge and you could win a $15 credit to the shop.  I used one of the awesome Crate Paper slide frames on my card that are unfortunately sold out in the Whimsical Twist shop.  But there are plenty of other goodies for sale and loads of new items available for pre-order.  Check out all the Glitz goodies!  And there is a 25% off sale going on right now through September 30 also.  Just use the code AUTUMN25 to save.
