Keep Calm.....

This is the first of many St. Paddy's Day cards that I will be making.  This year I found some really cute stamps and a clearance priced shamrock punch.  I used some of my new goodies when making this card. I popped up those cute shamrocks with foam tape to give the card some dimension and stamped my favorite new $1 stamp on a banner shape for the focal point of the card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Project Life Page Week 5

I am really enjoying a new type of scrapping for me this year.  It is called Project Life and the idea is to document our weekly activities in order to preserve memories that would otherwise not make it into our scrapbooks.  Although this is my first year, Project Life has been around for some time and was started by Becky Higgins.  You can see more info HERE.

This is one of two pages from week #5 and I decided to go with a big title.  I used mostly my Studio Calico February PL kit with a few sprinklings thrown in from my January kit as well.  I LOVE my Studio Calico kits!

I am linking this page up with Paper Issues Spring Into the Studio theme.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by my blog!

....Love Gives Us a Fairy Tale

I am re-doing my wedding album.  I started it when IO first started scrapping several years ago and was doing most of the pages in 8.5x11.  We were married in 2003 in a casual ceremony in Las Vegas and I do not have a ton of traditional wedding pictures so I am looking forward to color coordinating all the pages and getting the album finished.  (And by the way....YES, I wore a black dress.)

For this page I used for the title a quote that I had on a little plaque that I bought after I became single when my 25 year marriage ended.  I can say that this is the longest title I have ever used on one of my pages but I am pleased with the result.

I used this sketch from The Scraproom Blog:

I am also entering this page in the Red Carpet Studio The Notebook (journaling) challenge.

CAS-ual Fridays CFC90

My dad is visiting from Denver and Dave and I have taken a few days off to spend with him before we attend the Daytona 500 this Sunday.  Early this morning before Dad got up I got inspired to create this card for this CAS-ual Fridays challenge:

I used corrugated white paper for the background and my large blossom is felt and a sheer white material.  The pop of color comes from flair from American Crafts.

I am entering this card also in:
My Craft Spot Flower Challenge
and
Scrap It Girl Material Challenge

I am also linking up this card at Paper Issues Let's Have a Crafting A{Flair}
(don't they have the most clever theme titles???)

Just a Note

I got off a couple of hours early today so I had some time and energy to get creative.  I saw this great sketch over at Basic Grey:

When looking through my Basic Grey drawer of papers I found paper from the awesome PB & J collection that matched this weeks color challenge over at Paper Smooches.

I stayed pretty true to the sketch but I replaced the heart element with a chipboard tree that I found in my stash..  The sentiment is from  Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler and those cute little birdies are from Smoocheroos. Honestly, I think Paper Smooches has the best and cutest stamps on the market right now.  If you are interested in checking out their stamp sets here is the link:

Chill-laxin' at the Funky Pelican

I have one problem with our weekends....they are never long enough.  A couple of weekends ago Dave and I tried the Funky Pelican for an early dinner.  It is the brand new restaurant on the Flagler Beach Pier and the views are magnificent.  I snapped this shot of Dave there as just "chill-laxin'".

I used Amy Tangerine papers and embellies and this sketch from Artful Delight:

I am also entering it over at Frosted Designs Be Bold challenge.

Hugs

Here is another card for a friend.  This time I used this sketch from Artful Delight:

The papers are from Pebbles "Seen and Noted" collection and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Like Peas & Carrots

Dave and I live in one of the prettiest places in this country....the Florida coast.  A couple of weeks ago we had a date night and went for dinner at a new restaurant on the Flagler Beach Pier.  After dinner Dave took this picture of us.  Since Dave is over a foot taller than me the top of his head often gets cut off in self portrait pictures but I love these type of pictures and I have a whole collection of them starting when we first started dating.  Speaking of dating I took the title of this page from our favorite movie....a movie we first watched while dating.  Do you know what movie it is?

This is my second layout assignment that I created for my new design team Miracle Momma Designs and I used this awesome sketch from Heather:

I would love to see you work with this sketch....check out the details HERE:
There is even a digital template for you digi-scrappers.

Thank You

I belong to an incredible online community of wonderful ladies that share my passion for papercrafting.  In addition to all the inspiration, friendship and encouragement I receive from them, I am also very often blessed with goodies they send me in the mail (also called "Happy Mail")

Because of this I never seem to have enough thank you or friendship cards on hand.  Right now there is a lull in the birthdays of my family and friends so I have some time to stock up on my supply of them and I am starting to do just that with this clean and simple thank you card.

I Heard You're Amazing...

I think single parents are amazing....parenting is a very difficult job, let alone handling it on your own.  But my son Adam is raising 2 wonderful, happy, smart and kind boys.  I wanted to let him know with this card that I think he is doing a wonderful job.

I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

Thanks for checking out my blog....I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

I love you bear-y much

I sent my grandchildren Valentine packages filled with cards, gifts and of course candy.  It gives me a great deal of joy to think of all those lil' cuties eating all this candy and acting hyper for their parents.  Is that rotten of me?  LOL

You Are My Reason Why

I have the best husband in the world.  I know, a lot of women say that but in my case it is really true.  And you know the sad thing?  I don't tell him near enough how much he means to me. I made this card for him and plan to give it to him soon for no special reason.  (I already made him a Valentine card.)

I used this sketch from Mojo Mondays:

I am also entering it at The Play Date Cafe Challenge #168

I absolutely loved the color challenge this week of cranberry, raspberry and petal.  My crinkly ribbon is cranberry and my Bo Bunny paper has raspberry and petal (or dusty pink) hearts....perfect for this challenge.

The final challenge I am entering it into is Simon Says Stamp Have a Heart challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Valentine Card

This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is do something really unique with alphas.  While this idea is not uniquely mine...I just loved the design of the card and made one with my own little touch of the glittery turquoise letters and wood veneer.

I am entering this at CAS-ual Fridays CFC88 challenge
